BalletRox is committed to maintaining a respectful, inclusive, and accessible environment for all individuals engaged with the organization, including staff, teaching artists, volunteers, board members, and individuals with disabilities. The organization has established a clear and equitable grievance procedure to ensure that concerns are addressed promptly, fairly, and confidentially.
1. Reporting a Concern
Any individual who experiences or witnesses discrimination, harassment, accessibility barriers, or other concerns is encouraged to report the issue. Complaints may be submitted verbally or in writing to program coordinator, Partner Liaison for external programs, or business manager. Individuals may also request reasonable accommodations (such as language support or alternative communication formats) to ensure equitable access to the complaint process.
2. Accessibility and Support
BalletRox ensures that the grievance process is accessible to individuals with disabilities. This may include providing materials in alternative formats, offering interpretation or translation services, and allowing for support persons to be present during discussions if requested.
3. Review and Investigation
Upon receipt of a complaint, the organization will acknowledge the concern in a timely manner and initiate a review. A designated staff member or leadership representative will conduct a fair and impartial investigation, which may include gathering information from all relevant parties. Confidentiality will be maintained to the greatest extent possible.
4. Resolution and Follow-Up
After reviewing the information, BalletRox will determine appropriate steps to address the concern. This may include corrective actions, mediation, policy adjustments, or additional training. The individual who submitted the complaint will be informed of the outcome, as appropriate.
5. Protection from Retaliation
BalletRox strictly prohibits retaliation against any individual who raises a concern or participates in an investigation. Any instances of retaliation will be treated as a serious violation of organizational policy.
6. Continuous Improvement
The organization uses feedback from grievances to strengthen its policies, improve accessibility, and ensure a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
